Kindling the Easter Fire

Sat, March 30, 2024 • 7:30pm - 7:45pm (15m) • Front doors of the Chapel

Followed by Procession from Skinner to All Saints for Easter Vigil Service at 8:00pm

The Easter Vigil service begins the Easter celebrations of Jesus’ Resurrection. Our celebration will begin with kindling the fire in the darkness. As fire is a source of warmth and light, the fire of the Easter Vigil represents Christ’s victory over death. The fire will be used to light the Paschal candle, a prominent candle that will be housed at All Saints, which when lit symbolizes the risen Christ. With candles aflame from the fire, we will process with the light of Christ to All Saints to join the Easter Vigil Service. During this service filled with Scripture and song, a few Carleton students will be taking the next steps in their Christian journeys. All Saints Church invites us all to this service to support these students and celebrate Christ’s resurrection.

Whether you are a student, staff, faculty, or a member of the Northfield community or neighboring congregations, know you are welcome at all our Holy Week programs.
